THDUTL V3.01 93/11/24 and later versions

Revise handling of FILES.LST to support TriBBS V5.01 B07 Beta and
later releases.

Follow the instructions in BETA.DOC and README.1ST provided with TriBBS
and run ASCTOBIN /ALL.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS VERSION WITH TriBBS VERSIONS PRIOR TO B07!
THDUTL30 is still compatable with the earlier versions of TriBBS.

The following extracted from Mark's BETA, README.1ST file

CONVERTING EXISTING FILE LIST
-----------------------------

Because TriBBS 5.01 Beta 7 now supports binary file lists, you must convert
all existing file lists from ASCII to binary. This is accomplished by
running the new AscToBin from your main TriBBS directory with the following
command line:

ASCTOBIN /ALL

If you use any type of file list utility that modifies a file list in any
way, it must be compatible with TriBBS's new binary file list format. To
date, only the new FileMan* is compatible with the new binary file list
format. Therefore, you must either stop using any incompatible file list
utilities until the author updates then for compatibility with the new
binary file lists or you must run AscToBin on the modified file list before
using it with TriBBS.

* and HD's Utility of course!

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
