Define default paths to directories for destination QWK
files into which source QWK files will be merged, for
source QWK files which are to be merged into destination
QWK files, a transient work directory for merge
processing and for the location of QWK configuration
files.

Define file names and arguments for compression,
decompression, archive file listings and text editor
preferences.

Define colors for menu selection bars, window frames,
non-selectable menu items, fast select characters, text

frames.

number of days to keep messages before purging from the

into destination QWK files.

Default path to a working directory for QWKCFG and
QWKMerge to use for temporary files during configuration
and merging of QWK files.

Note: The working directory may be located on a RAM
drive to increase processing speed providing there is
sufficient space available. The space necessary for
processing is approximately twice the size of the
uncompressed destination QWK or the total size of the
two uncompressed QWK files which ever is larger.

*B 40,Conference Sort
Setting this option to Y will cause QWKCfg to sort the
conference names on the conference selection screen
alphabetically. Setting it to N will list the
conferences numerically. Setting it to A will cause
QWKCfg to ask you first.

*B 41,Swap
Setting this option to Y will cause QWKCfg and QWKMerge
to swap as much of their programs to XMS, EMS or disk
when shelling to DOS when running utilities or directly
dropping to a DOS shell.

*B 42,Swap Drive
You may set this option to any active drive letter on
your system. In the event that you have swapping enabled
and the program is unable to swap to XMS or EMS memory,
it will attempt to swap to the designated drive.

Note: It is not necessary to designate a particular
drive. If left blank, the programs will swap to the
current working directory.

*B 43, Dupe Checking
Setting this option to Y will cause QWKMerge to scan for
duplicate message numbers when unpacking conference
messages. Setting it to N will increase unpacking
speed, but increase the chance of duplicate messages
being merged into the destination QWK.

*B 90,Maximum Messages
Select the maximum total number of messages you would
like QWKMerge to keep in this conference.

Note: Please consult your reader's documentation to
determine it maximum limits. Many readers are limited
to a maximum of 200 messages per conference.

Select the maximum number of days you would like
QWKMerge to keep old messages in this conference.

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
