v2.00

by

Bob Ransom

The Poop On Version 2.00 --

This version adds the ability to extract messages from all
messages bases at once, and to extract only messages
addressed to a certain user. Also, messages containing
"Seen-By" lines are now handle correctly (or close to it,
anyway).

Here's how to use the changes:

To scan all boards at once, use an "A" in place of message
board number on the command line.

To extract only messages to a certain user, you must not
allow Q-Export to use the default extract filename -- you
must supply one on the command line. After the extract
filename, put the user name to search for.

Here's an example of how to use both changes:

QEXPORT A -Hqbbs.hi qbbs.txt Bob Ransom

which will scan all message boards for mail to Bob Ransom.
Any messages that are found will be dumped to QBBS.TXT,
with the last read pointer stored in QBBS.HI.

For more information, see QEXPORT.DOC.

Revision History (short and sweet):

Version 2.0 -- See above.

Version 1.5 -- Added the "high water mark" pointer
storage to the program. Also, cleaned up the errorlevels
that the program exits so that they were consistent and
usable by batch files.

Version 1.0 -- The original release.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
