PCB Freedom 1.50 Update ZIP Readme....

FREE15UP.ZIP Contents.....

- README.UPD introductory information (this file)
- HISTORY.TXT version history information for Freedom
- LICENSE.WRI License Agreement
- FREEDOM.WRI documentation for installation, registration and
operation
- LICENSE.TXT plain ASCII text version of LICENSE.WRI
- FREEDOM.TXT plain ASCII text version of FREEDOM.WRI
- FREEDOM.WAX the compiled main script file
- FREEDOMR.WAX a compiled support script
- FREEDOMD.WAX a compiled support script
- FREEDM0.HLP a replacement for the version 1.xx main help file

Quick instructions (for those few of you who hate reading manuals)
for updating a previous version (1.00 or 1.00a) of PCB Freedom to
version 1.50.....

1) UnZip all of the files in FREE15UP.ZIP into a temporary directory.

2) Decide whether or not you are going to use a "support" directory. If
so, create that directory using File Manager or similar. Once
created, move all of the FREEDMxx.HLP files from the \PROWIN\ASPECT
subdirectory to your chosen support directory. Replace the
FREEDM0.HLP file with the new one included in the update ZIP.

3) Move the two CFG files, FREEDOM.CFG and FREEDIAL.CFG from the
\PROWIN\ASPECT subdirectory to the support directory. If you wish,
the FREEDOM.ICO file may also be moved here, but if you do, you will
have to update the properties for your desktop icon.

4) Copy the files FREEDOMD.WAX and FREEDOMR.WAX to the support
directory.

5) Replace the version 1.00 FREEDOM.WAX file with the version 1.50
FREEDOM.WAX file from the update ZIP.

That's it.... when you run Freedom for the first time, it will locate your
FREEDOM.INI file, move it to the \PROWIN\ASPECT subdirectory, and then ask
a couple of questions for the new set up items needed. Once that is done,
you are updated, and can go ahead with Freedom operations.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
