FNZIPCMT v1.1
(C) Copyright 1990
Feathernet Software

Warning!
--------

Your use of this program is your acceptance of any possible
liabilities, loss, or damage occurring from such use.

I, Ron Pierce, am free from any damages which may result from
said use.

This is a replacement for the program "ZipComnt.exe". "FnZipCmt"
will add custom Zip comments to all zip files in a directory. It is
not meant to be used on single files. I wrote it to be used with the
FeatherNet BBS program for updating comments on newly uploaded files.

You are free to use this program as you see fit. No fees for
distribution are allowed at all! User groups and 'Shareware'
distributors are forbidden from charging anything at all (including
cost of disks) for the distribution of this program.

If you had to pay anything to get this program, let me know
immediately.

This program may be distributed on bulletin boards as 'shareware'.

Usage
-----

1. You must set a dos environment variable to use FNZIPCMT. It MUST
be 'SET FNZIPCMT=path/name' - where 'path/name' is a complete
dos path and file name for a text file containing the zip comment
to add to ALL files. Example: SET FNZIPCMT=C:\FNET\ZCMT.FIL

2. If FNZIPCMT cannot find this file it will abort and set a dos
errorlevel of 1.

3. Run FNZIPCMT from the directory the ZIP files to add comments to
are located. The command line is simple "FNZIPCMT".

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
