ARCMA.BAT
This batch file is used to archive the ARCMx message capture file into
the .ARC format. It must be edited to conform to your bbs' node directory
and work directory paths.

ARCMAS.BAT
This batch file is used to archive the ARCMx message capture file into
the .ARC format when using the 'SHELL TO ARCHIVE and TRANSFERS' option. It
is almost identical to 'arcma.bat' except that the last line MUST NOT end
with 'sr' and MUST end with 'EXIT'

ARCML.BAT
This batch file is used to archive the ARCMx message capture file into
the .LZH format. It must be edited to conform to your bbs' node directory
and work directory paths.

ARCMLS.BAT
This batch file is used to archive the ARCMx message capture file into
the .LZH format when using the 'SHELL TO ARCHIVE and TRANSFERS' option. It
is almost identical to 'arcma.bat' except that the last line MUST NOT end
with 'sr' and MUST end with 'EXIT'

ARCMZ.BAT
This batch file is used to archive the ARCMx message capture file into
the .ZIP format. It must be edited to conform to your bbs' node directory
and work directory paths.

ARCMZS.BAT
This batch file is used to archive the ARCMx message capture file into
the .ZIP format when using the 'SHELL TO ARCHIVE and TRANSFERS' option. It
is almost identical to 'arcma.bat' except that the last line MUST NOT end

BLT.MEN
This is the ASCII (NO ANSI COLOR) bulletin list (or menu) file.
Use any text editor to create this file and ENSURE it is saved in PURE
ascii format.

BLTG.MEN
This is the ANSI COLOR GRAPHICS bulletin list (or menu) file.
Use any ANSI editor to create this file. I do recommend 'THEDRAW' to edit
this file.

BLTN-1
This is Bulletin #1 on a system. The bulletin file names are comprised of
'BLTN-' plus the number of the bulletin (1 thru 99). The ANSI bulletins
are named as 'BLTN-' plus the number of the bulletin (1 thru 99) followed
by a 'G'.

BLTN-2
Another ascii bulletin file included for your use if desired.

BLTN-9
Another ascii bulletin file included for your use if desired.

BNU2.BAT
This is a sample 'FOSSIL DRIVER RE-INITIALIZATION' batch file to be used
when you select the 'SHELL to TRANSFERS' option in the configuration.
This batch file is only required when you 'SHELL' to transfers and may be
named ANY legitimatedos batch file name.

BYE
The logoff file (if desired). This is the ASCII version. Add a 'G' (BYEG)
for the ANSI COLOR version.

CONF
This is the ASCII conference listing file. The ANSI COLOR file is titled
'CONFG'.

DIR1
This is a SAMPLE DIRxx file. This is the name of the DIRxx file created
for the first file directory listed in the 'DIRDATA' file (created by the
configuration program (fncfg.exe).

DIR100
Another sample DIRxx file.

DIRMAST
File containing file directory 'control' file names for version 3.9
and newer.

DMAS.MEN
ASCII menu of available file directory control file areas

DMASG.MEN
ANSI menu of available file directory control file areas

DOWN.WRN
An ascii file containing a warning or information you want users to read
prior to downloading files. It MUST be located in the main bbs directory.

FILER.BAT
A batch file to which the bbs 'SHELLS' to run 'fnfiler.exe', the Feathernet
Upload file manager.

FNCFG.HLP
A random access file which 'fncfg.exe' accesses when the F1 key is pressed
for additional information or help on an item in the configuration.

FNCFG.NDX
A companion file to 'fncfg.hlp'.

FNCHK.CFG
Configuration file for FNCHK.EXE. Details are in 'fnet.doc'. This file is
REQUIRED in each NODE directory.

FNCONFIG.BAT
A batch file to which the bbs 'SHELLS' to run 'fncfg.exe', the Feathernet
Setup and Configuration Utility.

FNET.DOC
Documentation file for Feathernet BBS.

FNET.SCR
The 'Waiting For a Call' screen Feathernet Loads into Memory.

FNETDOOR.DOC
Documentation for Sysops desiring to run 'DOORS' or external programs
with Feathernet.

FNETFREE
A list of filenames which are 'free' downloads. The list must be a
straight ascii text file with all names in upper case with no spaces in
the filename.

FNETPROT.DAT
The file transfer protocol date file. Will support almost any external
file transfer protocol driver. See the 'fnet.doc' file for the proper
format.

FNETSCR.ANS
The ANSI version of the Waiting for a call screen for some sysops who
want to 'customize' the screen.

FNETSM.HLP
A random access file which 'FNETSM.EXE' accesses when the F1 key is pressed
for additional information or help on an item in the user editor.

FNETSM.NDX
A companion file to 'FNETSM.HLP'.

FNETFTDR.ZIP
Contains information on setting up FeatherNet BBS for FIDO echo mail.

FNETTEXT
The file Feathernet uses for some of the text displayed within the program.

FNETTEXT.ORG
A backup 'fnettext' file for sysops desiring to 'customize' the 'fnettext'
file.

FNETTEST.BAT
A batch file which controls the external testing of uploaded files
immediately after an upload(s). This file is called by 'fnchk.exe'.
This file MUST be located in EACH NODE directory. If you do not want
to test uploads with another program (besides FNCHK.EXE) then you may
either omit this file are haev one line in it which says "EXIT".

FNFILER.TXT
A text file with information on the 'fnfiler.exe' upload file directory
manager utility.

FNREAD.ME
A text file with information on the updates to Feathernet BBS. A MUST
reading for sysops upgrading to a newer release.

FNSYSOP.ANS
The ANSI version of the Sysop Help screen (F10) for sysops who wish to
'customize' the sysop help screen. Save the file in BASVE format as
'fnsysop.hlp'.

FNTEXT
The source data file which 'fntext2.com' uses to create the 'fnettext'
file. Edit this to you liking and run 'fntext2.com'. Then place the
'fnettext' file in your bbs HOME directory.

FNTEXT2.COM
Run this program to create a fnettext file.

FNSYSOP.HLP
The sysop help screen which is displayed at any ptompt with the F10 key.

FNTSHOOT.TXT
A text file with some helpful troubleshooting information for sysops
experiencing problems getting Feathernet online.

FNTXTED.TXT
A text file with instructions for editing the 'fnettext' file to the
sysop's liking.

FNZIPCMT.DOC
A text file describing the operation of the 'fnzipcmt.exe' program.

FNZLAB2.TXT
A text file included to assist sysops desiring to utilize ZipLab to check
uploads for corruption, viruses, and other checks. ZipLab is written by
Jeffrey Morley. As of version 1.8 (ZipLab Plus) it works great!

FT.HLP
A text file with help for the file transfer area commands.

LOCAL.TXT
A text file with instruction for using 'localup.exe', the Feathernet
local file upload utility for sysops.

LOGON.TXT
The first text file displayed during the logon sequence. This file is
abortable (SPACE, ^K).

M.MEN
The pure ascii main menu text file.

MAIN.HLP
A text file with help for the main menu commands.

MG.MEN
The ANSI main menu file.

MSG.HLP
An ASCII text file containing information on the available messaging
commands.

MSG.MEN
The ASCII conference menu file.

MSGG.MEN
The ANSI congerence menu file.

NEWUSER
An ASCII text file shown to new users after they are entered into the
'users' file.

NEWUSER2
An ASCII text file shown to 'potential' new users after they have completed
the 'NEW USERS'' script questionaire when the sysop elects to run a closed
system and all new users are screened prior to the sysop adding them to
the 'users' file.

PRIV.DAT
The data file for the new PRIVATE upload function (sysop option). It is a
random access file of 93 byte Records. The file format is in 'fnet.doc'.
Each node will have its own 'priv.dat' file and it will be in the NODE
directory.

PRIVPACK.COM
Used to "pack" the private file transfer database (priv.dat). Ensure
'privpack.com' is located in the dos path and execute it from each bbs NODE
directory to "pack" the database.

PRIVUL.TMP
A "temporary" directory file created for a user in the NODE directory when
an authorized user enters the 'private' file transfer function.

PROMP.BAT
This is a batch file which is 'shelled' to when the F9 key is pressed for
a 'Sysop Shell to Dos'.

PWRD
This is an ASCII file which controls the time users are allowed each day
on the bbs. It also controls the K-Bytes allowed per day when the 'ratio'
file does not contain an entry for the users security level.

RATIO
An ASCII text file which controls the users' file transfer ratios. Ratios
may be controlled by bytes or number of files.

README 1ST
An ascii text file with instructions for upgrading to version 3.38 and
newer FROM a pre version 3.38 setup.

SCRIPT.0
A sample newuser script questionaire.

SR.BAT
The MAIN batch file to operate Feathernet from.

SRWELC
The ASCII text file displayed after a user has properly entered his name
and password.

SRWELCG
The ANSI COLOR version of srwelc.

T.MEN
The file transfer ASCII menu file.

TCAN
A list of names (in UPPERCASE) which are to be considered 'LOCKED OUT' of
the bbs. This is not used by Feathernet but is included for sysops
running Prodoor.

TG.MEN
The ANSI COLOR file transfer menu.

TRASH
A list of names (in UPPERCASE) which are to be considered 'LOCKED OUT' of
the bbs. They cannot logon at all.

UPLOAD.WRN
An ascii file containing a warning or information you want users to read
prior to uploading files. It MUST be located in the main bbs directory.

UPSEC
An ASCII text file used by Prodoor to control the uploading of various
filenames.

USEREDIT.BAT
A batch file which is 'shelled' to when running 'fnetsm.exe'.

USERNAME
A text file featherNet uses (beginning with version 3.9c) to allow
notifying callers new personal mail has been left with the @USER@ macro.

Non Text Files
--------------

BRUN45.EXE
A run time module for some Feathernet utilities.

CALLFIX.EXE
Corrects the 'caller.log' file to the correct record size for
Feathernet version 3.9. If your caller.log file appears corrupted at any
time, run CALLFIX.EXE. It will correct and display problems with the file.

CNAME.EXE
A program which creates a 'pcboard.dat' and 'cnames' file which are needed
to run Prodoor.

DCVT.EXE
A conversion utility needed when upgrading to version 3.38 or newer from
a version prior to 3.38.

DEFAULT.EXE
A conversion utility for converting the 'chat.def' file from version 3.7 (or
earlier) to version 3.8 (or later) format.

DIRNDX.EXE
A utility introduced with Feathernet version 3.9e which is used in
conjunction with 'dndxcfg.exe' to create the file directory INDEX files
for quickly determining if a file exists on the bbs during an upload or
download attempt.

DNDXCFG.EXE
The configuration program for INDEXING the file names available on the
bbs.

FEXT.EXE
This modifies the 'fnextusr' file to support some changes in the way
Feathernet handles conference registration information. Run this once
if you are upgrading from a version prior to version 3.9c.

FNCFG.EXE
The Feathernet configuration/setup utility.

FNCHK.EXE
The Feathernet upload validation program.

FNECHO.EXE
A utility Feathernet uses to echo the 'testing uploads' message prior to
uploads being tested for validity.

FNET.EXE
The main Feathernet executible program.

FNETSM.EXE
The Feathernet BBS sysop user maintenance utility.

FNFILER.EXE
The Feathernet BBS upload file manager.

FNTXTED.COM
A utility for sysops who wish to customize 'fnettext'.

FNZIPCMT.COM
A utility which adds custom zip comments to .ZIP archived files.

LOCALUP.EXE
The Feathernet BBS sysop local upload utility. Has been updated for the
DIR Control Files used in FeatherNet version 3.9 and newer.

MOVE.COM
A utility used by Feathernet to move uploaded files to the 'upload'
directory from the 'work' directory.

PRIVPACK.COM
Used to "pack" the private file transfer database (priv.dat). Ensure
'privpack.com' is located in the dos path and execute it from each bbs NODE
directory to "pack" the database.

PRIVUTIL.EXE
RUN from the bbs HOME directory to "ADD" files to or "DELETE" files
from the private file transfer database. Also interfaced with privpack
to pack (purge deleted entries) priv.dat.

SCROLL.COM
A utility used to maintain the user information at the bottom of the
screen during file transfers.

SIG39C.EXE
This modifies the 'sigdata' file with your assistance to define the
public and private conferences. New callers will be given access
to ALL public conferences in which the NEW USER security level is equal to
or greater than. Run this once if upgrading from a version prior to
version 3.9c

SIGCVT.EXE
This program MUST be run from each node directory when upgrading to
version 3.9 from earlier versions.

It modifies the 'sigdata' file by adding a ", 1" to the 2nd line of each
conference's entry in the file. You will need to run fncfg.exe and edit
each conference configuration for which you do not want the first directory
control file used.

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
