What is it?
This RBBS 17.4 mod will automatically add upload descriptions to an
upload if it contains a FILE_ID.DIZ description file.
How does it work?
First you MUST convert uploads, using the Cxxxxxx.BAT files. A common
one is CZIPZIP.BAT. I've included the CZIPZIP.BAT file from my BBS, which
unzips an upload into a work directory, scans it for viruses, converts the
FILE_ID.DIZ file for RBBS if found, then rezips the upload into a new package.
Upon return to RBBS after conversion, the upload description is automatically
entered into your FMS directory, all the uploader has to do is classify the
upload.
What must I do to make it work?
First you must allow extended descriptions, and I recommend you allow at least
8 lines for the description.
You must install the BAMAFID executable in your Cxxxxxx.BAT files as shown
in the included CZIPZIP.BAT.
BAMAFID is called with three command parameters...
1 - FMS LENGTH (43,44,45,46)
2 - Directory decompressed file is located (D:\1), etc...
3 - RBBS directory (C:\RBBS...)
The two small merges, FID-PC.MRG and FID-SUB3.MRG must be merged into
RBBS 17.4's RBBS-PC.BAS and RBBSSUB3.BAS respectively. You can use Bled or
enter them manually, then recompile.
There are two variables, DESC$, and ZFILEID that need to be entered into
your RBBS-VAR.BAS file. I've included mine for example.
