NEED and AVOID, are GO, NO-GO utilities, SNIFF a system probe
utility. NEED.COM and AVOID.COM 4.8 are a pair of utilities for
ensuring the environment is friendly before continuing. They
will test the waters for and report back on such things as:

1. Is DESQview, BTrieve, 386MAX, Append, Share ... running?
2. Is there sufficient conventional, extended and expanded RAM?
3. Is there sufficient free disk space?
5. What kind of CPU and NPX do you have?
6. Calendar checks SUNDAY DAY MONTH YEAR?
6. What Windows version is running if any?
7. More safe-to-install type tests that you can shake a stick at.

What's New?
- non-standard Phoenix BIOSes now correctly reported as ATs.
- CD-ROMs no longer confuse the LAN test.
- 4DOS presence.
