As you see, we are up to DIRTY TRICKS!

What we are doing is having a Program WRITE A BATCH FILE!

Yup, It works, and then some! We can even have a program CHANGE
the very text of the batch file we are RUNNING when we call the program,
but that's for another lesson to follow.

Well, what did we WRITE into "REPLY.BAT"?

Well, that sure looks like a couple of SET statements doesn't it?

What do you think might happen if we CALLed GETIT, and then CALLed on
REPLY.BAT?

You guessed it, the NAME and PHONE values obtained by GETIT are now
sitting in our (DEMO_3.BAT) file's ENVIRONMENT!

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
