UNINSTAL.EXE

This program is designed to read the *.ini file created by setup1.exe (contained in VBINST8.ZIP) and remove files, directories, icons, and the program manager group that were installed by setup1.

To use, run UNINSTAL.EXE , and click on the SELECT button to display a list of the uninstall files that were created. The name is composed of the character "X" plus the first seven characters of the group name and the extension ".INI". Click on the file that you want to uninstall and click OK.

UNINSTAL reads the INI file and displays the number of items found in each category and checks the check boxes. If you do not want to delete a group of items, such as directories, click on the associated check box to clear it. If the VERIFY EACH DELETE box is checked, the program will prompt you before deleting each item.

If a directory is not empty, you will be asked if you want to delete any or all files in the directory. Select the files that you want to delete from the displayed list, and click on the DELETE button. You may not delete a directory if it contains any files or subdirectories.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
