1. Printing Documentation__________________________________
The entire documentation included on this disk is specially
formatted for direct printing on any printer. It does not
contain any printer specific control codes.
To print the documentation, set the printer to the top of the
form and at the DOS command line, enter:
TYPE PROWINDB.DOC > PRN
2. Important copyright() Function Information______________
There has been a lot of confusion regarding the standard
ProWindows copyright message.
ProWindows *LITE* - Version 2.02 is considered a
demonstration. It automatically invokes the copyright()
function, if you do not first call it specificly. Exactly
how it is done is dependant upon the language version you
have obtained. Consult the documentation.
Enhanced versions 3.02 and *PLUS* do not have this feature.
The copyright() function DOES NOT pop up automatically.
3. How to get FREE updates of ProWindows(tm) Libraries_____
Daniel Stasinski Enterprises has a very versatile exchange
program. If you are a software developer then it is highly
possible that you may have a program that I need.
It works like this, you write to me and tell me about your
product. If I like it, then we sign a little contract that
says that you will send me a free copy of your program, and I
will send you a free copy of mine. After the initial
exchange, you (or I) have the option of continuing or
canceling further exchanges.
The only restriction is that the software MUST be YOUR
original work. If you send me pirated software I promise you
that the FBI will be knocking on your DOOR.
4. Creating PROWIND.QLB (The ProWindows QuickLIBRARY)______
This archive comes with a batch file that will automatically
create a QuickLIBRARY for use within the QuickBASIC
environment. To run it, at the DOS prompt, enter:
MAKEQLB 40
MAKEQLB 41
MAKEQLB 45
If you do not know what a QuickLIBRARY is then it is strongly
suggested that you read the QuickBASIC documentation.
5. From the Author_________________________________________
Welcome to the world of ProWindows(tm), the ultimate
professional software development system.
ProWindows began it's life in the winter of 1987. It was
originally intended to be an in-house program, and used for
the development of my own commercial software projects. But
since that time, I have decided to release almost every part
of it to the commercial market.
The version you have now, "*LITE* - Version 2.02", is the
heart of the entire ProWindows line of products. The
ProWindows WLS (Window Logic System) does all the house
keeping for you. You need not worry about allocating memory,
saving existing screens, or coordinating printing. The WLS
takes care of it all. The ProWindows WLS is destined to
become the standard in "Pop Up" window management systems,
and I am sure that is why several major developers are
relying upon this product for all of their future software
development needs. Maybe you should too.
Just think, for $7.50 (the cost of a tremendous cup of
coffee) you can own, ROYALTY FREE, what serious developers
are relying upon. Or, for $15.00, (two tremendous cups of
coffee), you can get "*LITE* - Version 3.01". It has 30 more
window styles, 10 more useful functions, creates smaller
executable files, and still there are NO ROYALTIES. Oh yes,
it also comes with a coupon for a $10.00 discount when you
decide to purchase "ProWindows *PLUS*". Send it in NOW.
ProWindows *PLUS* for QuickBASIC and Turbo C are now
available. I believe that these are the most advanced
software development systems there is. I doubt that you will
find a program, at any price, that compares to it. And
considering the price is only $37.95 + $2.50 S/H, I doubt
that you ever will. Read the included documentation for more
information.
Please take some time now to fill out your registration
form. It took me over 1 year to do my part but it should
only take you a few moments to do yours.
Thank you for your continued support.
Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!
This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.
But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
