MOVE Steven Holzner
Command PC Magazine Vol 4, No 6
Copyright 1985 Ziff-Davis Publishing Company
______________________________________________________

Purpose: Allows rapid selection and copying of files
to or from a double-sided floppy disk, a
RAMdisk, or the current subdirectory of a
hard disk.

Format: MOVE [d:]filename[.ext] d:

Remarks: MOVE.COM was written to be compatible with
all versions of PC-DOS (including 1.1), and
so does not support pathnames.

Example: When you enter a command such as

MOVE A:*.BAS B:

each filename on the root (or current)
directory of drive A: that has a .BAS
extension will be displayed in the form

Copy filename.BAS (Y/N)?

If you strike Y, the file will immediately be
copied to drive B: and the next appropriate
filename will be displayed. If you strike N,
the file will not be copied, and the next
appropriate filename will be presented. The
program terminates with a simple return to
the DOS prompt when no appropriate files
remain to be considered.

  1. Very nice! Thank you for this wonderful archive. I wonder why I found it only now. Long live the BBS file archives!

  2. This is so awesome! 😀 I’d be cool if you could download an entire archive of this at once, though.

  3. But one thing that puzzles me is the “mtswslnkmcjklsdlsbdmMICROSOFT” string. There is an article about it here. It is definitely worth a read: http://www.os2museum.com/wp/mtswslnk/
