XV.EXE
Docs by Bryan Hanks, QOS USA 22 Oct 92

AUTHOR:

John Bradley, University of Pennsylvania ([email protected])

PURPOSE:

Xv allows you to view graphics files (GIF, Bitmap and JEPG) in a
window on an X terminal or other implemenation of X windows. This
particular version was ported for use on MS DOS machines running an X
server, such as DESQview/X.

USAGE:

xv.exe [-] [-2xlimit] [-aspect w:h] [-best24] [-bg color] [-black color]
[-browse] [-bw width] [-cecmap] [-cegeometry geom] [-cemap]
[-cgeometry geom] [-clear] [-close] [-cmap] [-crop] [-cursor char#]
[-DEBUG level] [-display disp] [-dither] [-expand exp] [-fg color]
[-fixed] [-geometry geom] [-help] [-hi color] [-hsv] [-igeometry geom]
[-imap] [-keeparound] [-lo color] [-loadclear] [-max] [-maxpect]
[-mono] [-ncols #] [-nglobal] [-ninstall] [-nolimits] [-nopos]
[-noqcheck] [-noresetroot] [-nostat] [-owncmap] [-perfect] [-quick24]
[-quit] [-rbg color] [-rfg color] [-rgb] [-rmode #] [-root] [-rv] [-rw]
[-slow24] [-smooth] [-visual type] [-wait seconds] [-white color]
[-wloop] filename ...

A filename MUST be specified. You can use wildcards (e.g., *.GIF) for
a filename or you can list several on the line. To get the above list of
parameters, type XV -help. An actual command-list is beyond the scope of
this document. Users are encouraged to experiment with the switches or use
the equialent radio buttons to change the settings. For a complete
description of what each parameter does, see the source code (XV.C, et.
al.)

NOTE: IF YOUR MACHINE DOES NOT HAVE A MATH COPROCESSOR, YOU MUST RUN
NO387.BAT (supplied). The compiler used to compile this version of the
program "requires" a math coprocessor, however one is not really necessary
for running this program.

GETTING TO THE MENU:

When the first screen comes up, click with the left mouse button in
that window to bring up the menu.
