DESQview Timesheet
by Bryan Hanks, Quarterdeck Office Systems
*** Version 1.03 ****
Getting Started
---------------
First, you will need to add a program and edit the PIF file so that
DESQview Timesheet (DT) will know where to put its config files. This directory
should already exist. If it doesn't then create it.
QUICK START (for those who hate to read!)
1) Run program, and select CONFIGURE and fill in the fields. SAVE.
2) Select NEW, then appropriate date
3) Select INPUT. Fill in fields.
4) Press F9 to calculate totals, then press
5) Select PRINT
_______________________________________________________________________________
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not run DESQview Timesheet from a network drive -- be sure
to only run it from a local hard disk. Errors may occur if the program is run
from a network drive.

The first two fields are for your name and department, respectively. If you are
paid hourly (i.e., you don't get salary), then select the OVERTIME field.
Salaried employees aren't paid overtime; selecting this field will enable
automatic overtime calculation.
Next, tab over to WORK HOURS. Enter your typical work day. Remember that all
times are in 24 hour format. This means that 1:00p is entered as 13:00, 2:00p
as 14:00, 5:00p as 17:00 and so on.
MAKE SURE YOU PRESS WHEN ENTERING HOURS, TO ENSURE PROPER FORMATTING.
Enter the lunch in the same manner. Once you are done, tab over and press
or click with the mouse on "SAVE" then on "QUIT"; your changes will be
saved automatically. If you only click on "QUIT" then your configuration
changes won't be saved.

The SAVE VALUES field is unused at this time.
Your timesheet is now created, but you need to calculate the totals:

F9 recalculates, ESC exits. The buttons on the bottom work as well. When
typing in hours, pressing the in the first character of that field will
clear the field. When you fill in an empty field, you MUST use the form "H:MM"
where "H" is any hour in 24-hour format, where 13=1pm, and "MM" is minutes (for
example, 8:03, 12:00, 22:00).
If you need to add hours to the "TOTAL REG" column--if you performed DVX testing
or some other work and you can't add it on as regular worked hours--then
simply type the time in this column. The special instruction in this case is
that you PRESS ENTER BEFORE MOVING ON to the next field. Other fields will
automatically advance you to the next field when filling them out, but the
feature is disabled here for this reason. When you alter a field, it will
change color. Selecting CALCULATE will preserve the changed values in this
column and calculate the TOTAL HOURS based on this field. Overtime is disabled
for this day regardless of the setting in the configuration.
To clear a changed TOTAL REG field and allow calculate to change it, simply
erase the value and PRESS ENTER IN THAT FIELD.
