DESQview Function Codes

Major codes:
%c Place on command line until end or %k or %A. Also, %c
applies to application startup in general (example %c%D.)
%k Send as keystroke input until end or %c or %A.
%A Keystroke input to active application until end or %c or %k.
!!!Important: Useless in a string with %+.

!!Note: A string MUST begin with %c or %k!

String replacement codes:
%p Full filespec of current file.
%s Filename only of current file.
%x Filename only minus extension of current file.
%y Extension only of current file.
%n Filespec minus drive qualifier of current file.
%d Full filespec of current directory.
%o Filespec minus drive qualifier of current directory.
%i Current 'Include' Mask.

Special string replacement codes:
%@ Write marked files to a work file and insert work filespec.
- %s Put only filenames (no paths) in work file.
- %x Put filenames minus extension in work file.
- follow by space or (up to) 12-character filename for work file.
%? Prompt for variable input (20 character window).
%Qnn Prompt for variable input of nn length (nn = 01 - 99).

'PIF' directory codes:
%D Put full filespec of current directory in directory field of PIF.
%O Put full filespec of directory in opposite split in PIF.

Special keystroke codes:
%e 'Enter' keystroke (valid only after %k/%A).
%E 'ESC' keystroke (valid only after %k/%A).
%% Insert a single % (percent) sign.
&& Insert a single & (ampersand) sign.

Delay codes:
&n Pause n seconds (n = 1 - 9) during keystroke input.
&.n Pause .n seconds

Special action codes:
%X??? Relate this DV Function file extension ???. Put at end of string.
%Mnnn Replace memory in K values in PIF with nnn.
%Nnnn Replace memory in K values in PIF with nnn + pointed-at file size.
%+ Automatically allow multiple copies of the application to be started.

!!! %+ negates the effect of %A.
%q Quit DV Tree immediately after app starts (valid only after %c).
%r Automatic directory refresh feature.
%P Replace any existing parameters in PIF (normally, the command line in
the PIF is appended to the end of anything created by DV Tree.)
%J Join DV Tree generated command line to the end of existing PIF parms.
%R Suppress a single refresh (such as produced by the ^A toggle).
%Z Initiate 'recursively' (use with %A or %+).
%@ (see Special string replacement codes).

Hidden DESQview feature codes:
%!n Give up processor after n polls of keyboard in 1 clock tick.
%- Start application in background (DV >= 2.26).
%h Start application hidden (DV >= 2.26).

Script initiation codes:
&z Execute ASCII {255} script in target window during keystroke input.
&y Execute ASCII {254} script in target window during keystroke input.
&x Execute ASCII {253} script in target window during keystroke input.
&w Execute ASCII {252} script in target window during keystroke input.
&v Execute ASCII {251} script in target window during keystroke input.



DV Tree Command Line Options

TREE=d:\fspec\filename Set DV Tree home directory
FMAX=n Override max files in config.
TMAX=n Override max directories in config.
RESET Destroy trees and configuration file.
OPP=d:\fspec Come up split screen with d:\fspec in opposite
split. Use OPP=* to just come up split.
EXEC=S Reassign (E)xec command to Spacebar.
EXEC=E Reassign (E)xec command to Enter key.
DISP=1 Shows filenames in uppercase.
DISP=2 Splits out extensions from filenames (ala DOS DIR).
DISP=3 DISP=1 + DISP=2.
